When I started setting up this page, I considered cutting and pasting what I always use for my bio (which, if you’re interested in that bio, visit my other website). But then I gave it a second thought.
This site is something new, something fresh, even personal. I’m taking a little different direction. And while my professional bio is certainly still relevant (and informative), what can I say about myself that you can’t find on my “official” bio?
Let me give it a shot. This will give you a glimpse of who I am:
- I am a change agent, so I love to inspire and motivate people beyond their current circumstances (because God knows, I’ve had my share of extreme challenges!).
- I am a professional student. (I’m still in school, finishing my masters degree!) The fact that I’ve indicated I’m a professional student should tell you that I will also pursue my doctorate.
- I have a type A personality. (And proud of it! LOL)
- I love things to be organized and in their place. (No. I’m not OCD either.) I thrive best in a clutter-free environment, literally and mentally.
- I know how to say NO and not feel guilty!
- My kids (son and daughter) tell me that I’m the best mom in the world. I think they’re pretty great, too, and they are wise beyond their little years. They inspire and bless me.
- My husband is one of my biggest fans, supporting me endlessly, even when I am feeling less than inspired. He refuses to let me give up.
- I am the oldest of five awesome and talented siblings; two sisters and two brothers. I have a mother who taught me, at a very young age, what having faith looks like. I have a father who, I think, gave me an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of discipline.
- I love technology and all things shiny.
- I love to read, but I haven’t embraced more fiction or leisure reading until recently. I have a friend who laughs when she discovers I’m reading a novel because she knows it is easier for me to gravitate towards books about self-improvement, inspiration, leadership or business-related.
- I have a small group of REAL friends that I treasure. These people know and accept me, unconditionally, and push me to walk in my greatness. They also never let me go into isolation when my life looks crazy. LOL
- I just wrote my bucket list this year. (Man, I’m behind.) Writing this list has given me a greater perspective on living more intentionally, seizing every opportunity to enjoy being alive. (I will probably blog about this.)
Let’s see. What else is there?
I am just an ordinary person (just like most who will stumble across this site) who desires to live with a greater sense of purpose, serving and reaching others.
Enough said?
I want my writing to speak for itself, giving you insight into who I am. I want to speak into your life. So I hope you will stop by often, even leave me a comment or two.
